Early Intervention & Level 1 Outpatient Treatment

Structured, individualized substance use services designed to identify risk, address harmful patterns, strengthen recovery skills, and connect clients to the level of care that fits their needs.

Early Intervention

Early Intervention is designed for people with identified substance-related risk factors who may not meet criteria for a substance use disorder diagnosis or who do not currently need a treatment level of care.

Services can include

  • ASAM-informed assessment of risk and service need
  • Individualized Early Intervention service planning
  • Education about substance-related risk and consequences
  • Strategies to reduce or eliminate at-risk behaviors
  • Referral to treatment when a higher level of care becomes appropriate

Level 1 Outpatient

Level 1 Outpatient treatment provides non-residential clinical services based on assessed need and an individualized treatment plan.

Services can include

  • Assessment and treatment planning
  • Continued assessment and service review
  • Individual SUD counseling
  • Group SUD counseling
  • Patient education and recovery support planning
  • Case management and care coordination when clinically appropriate
  • Discharge and continuing-care planning

A clear path from assessment to the right level of care

RTS uses assessment findings, clinical need, client goals, risk factors, and ongoing progress to guide service recommendations. When needs change, referrals or transitions to a more appropriate level of care can be coordinated.
